Lycian Orchid Scarves

This special scarf is inspired by the Lycian orchid, a rare and delicate species that grows only in certain regions of Turkey. Named after ancient Lycia, meaning “Land of Light,” this unique plant is now under threat of extinction.

The Mediterranean Conservation Society, co-founded by Caroline N. Koç, is dedicated to supporting the reintroduction of the Lycian orchid into its natural habitat through seed collection and laboratory-based germination studies.

To raise awareness of this endangered plant, Haremlique Istanbul collaborated with botanical artist Işık Güner. Through this meaningful partnership, the Lycian orchid was interpreted through art and preserved as a lasting botanical illustration.

The artwork, meticulously created by Işık Güner, was adapted by our design team into four exclusive scarf designs. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these scarves is donated to the Mediterranean Conservation Society, contributing to the preservation of this rare species.
